Displacement

I find the act of leaving one's life behind very scary. Imagine packing up your belongings to head for the unknown in search of something better. This is the reality for millions of immigrants in the diaspora. My family is no exception, and were shipped to Canada in the early 80's with the goal of sending money back to their family in Greece.

I often wonder what my life could have been like if circumstances were different, or whether or not I would have even been born at all. This grouping of works continue this thought. This series is a search for meaning in my identity of being an immigrant's child, and what expectations they had for me when they finally settled in their new home.
